How can we help you?

How Do Weight Loss Pills Work?
What happens at my first appointment?
During the first part of your Private Weight Loss and Wellness Assessment, you will have a 10-minute, non-invasive physical health screening with a Health Assessor at a health assessment centre near you.
The second part of your Private Weight Loss and Wellness Assessment is a remote appointment with our one of our weight loss doctors.
This doctor weight loss consultation will be 30 minutes in length, depending on the conversation with the doctor and any questions you have for them during the appointment.
The doctor will take time to discuss your weight or health concerns, your lifestyle and your goals for joining The Slimming Clinic.
Following your weight loss diagnosis with the doctor, you will design a personalised online weight loss programme to suit your lifestyle and aims.
Our Private Weight Loss and Wellness Assessments are designed so that we can take the guess-work out of weight loss for you.
By working with our health assessor near you and GMC-registered doctor, we spend quality time with your and use your assessment to find out more about your health and weight and tailor a weight loss programme for you, based on your requirements and weight loss goals.
No two weight loss programmes are the same with The Slimming Clinic, as no two patients are the same!

Is medical weight loss safe?
Yes; all medication is prescribed by a doctor who will give you a health screening to check that you are suitable for our medication. They only prescribe safe and effective medication, most of which are appetite suppressants with a history of success to help weight loss and treat obesity by increasing one or more brain chemicals that affect appetite. If you would like to find out more information on our medication, please book your free consultation with one of our doctors.
Do I have to change my diet whilst on the medication?
Whilst the medications work with you to help control your cravings, we do encourage you to adopt a healthy eating plan alongside them.
When you come into clinic, we can work with you to help curb cravings, suggest replacements and give dietary advice on how to make sure you don’t sabotage your weight loss journey with the foods you are eating!
Do Weight Loss Pills Work?
Do I have to exercise whilst taking the medication?
Increasing your activity levels is proven to improve your general health and well-being and we do encourage some movement alongside a healthier diet and the medication.
We understand that for some, the thought of exercising can be daunting! But don’t worry – we’re not expecting you to run marathons! We will work alongside you to find the best way for you to get moving, no matter your fitness starting point. .
What slimming treatments are available?
As each medical weight loss programme we devise is personalised to you, the medication you may be prescribed will depend on the findings from your initial weight loss consultation. The consultation will consider lifestyle factors, medical background and any medication you are currently on.
The Slimming Clinic offer the following treatments as aids to your weight loss journey:
- Prescription weight loss medication, such as appetite suppressants which can be taken in tablet or injection form (based on suitability)
- Fat blockers
- Chromium, which reduces sugar cravings and hunger pangs
- Natural slimming aids
Am I overweight?
One way to work out whether you are overweight or obese is to work out your Body Mass Index (BMI). Check yours by using our BMI calculator. If your BMI is on the higher end of the scale, it can lead to health risks in the future. In order to lower your BMI, it is suggested that you modify your diet and lifestyle.
For advice on how to do this, you can book a one-to-one weight loss consultation with one of our doctors who will discuss the best programme for you.
